John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions with his pop-folk songs and many of them located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf from Roswell near New Mexico, fell in Love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver, the Hall of Fame's initial inductee, was honoured by the honor in 2011. To many, Denver is the Colorado image. In my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them you're from Colorado The first thing they say are Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff created the track with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that it was destined to be a hit single. He recorded it within a couple of days of playing in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
