Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was a kid, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she made the decision to become an actress. She was trained for many years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she was taught acting as well as singing. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight consecutive auditions. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The movie set records on opening day and weekend numbers, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. Reviewers were awed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her outstanding performance. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her impressive performance. In the end, she received the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
